Set the room before they arrive
- Choose a quiet sleeping space close enough that you can hear your puppy stir.
- Set up a properly sized crate or playpen with a soft bed and Mom's Scent Blanket from us.
- Place a pee pad just outside the sleeping area, in the layout we walked through together.
- Keep water available in the playpen, not the crate.
The evening routine
- Feed dinner at least an hour before bedtime so your puppy can digest and potty.
- Take one last calm trip to the potty spot right before lights out.
- Keep the last hour low-stimulation — soft lighting, quiet voices, no rough play.
What is normal overnight
- Some whining is normal. Your puppy has never slept apart from their littermates before.
- Most young puppies need one middle-of-the-night potty break. Keep it quiet and boring — no play, no big lights.
- Avoid taking the puppy into bed. It feels kind in the moment, but it makes the crate harder long-term.
