"Non-shedding" gets used loosely in the Goldendoodle world. We use it carefully. The Goldendoodles we raise at Kid's Best Doodle are bred specifically for the coat genetics that produce a truly non-shedding result — and we're honest with every family about what hypoallergenic actually means.
What makes a Goldendoodle truly non-shedding
It's the coat — not just the breed.
A Goldendoodle's shedding behavior comes down to two coat genes (RSPO2 and KRT71). The right combination produces a wavy or curly coat that holds onto its hair instead of dropping it. That's where consistently non-shedding Goldendoodles come from — not luck, not generation alone.

Hypoallergenic, explained honestly
What allergy sufferers actually react to.
No dog is fully hypoallergenic — and any breeder who tells you otherwise is overselling. Most people who think they're allergic to dog hair are actually reacting to dander (skin cells) and saliva proteins carried on shed hair.
Goldendoodles bred for the right coat genetics shed dramatically less, which means dramatically less dander circulating in your home. For most allergy-sensitive families, that's the difference between living comfortably with a dog and not.
