Petite (aka Toy) Goldendoodle
- Typical adult weight: 10 to 25 pounds; under 14 inches at the shoulder.
- Our smallest size — ideal for apartments, condos, and city living.
- The easiest size for travel, in-cabin flights, and being carried.
- A favorite for lap cuddles, single professionals, and empty nesters.
- Small does not mean fragile — they still need daily walks, structure, and engagement.
Mini Goldendoodle
- Typical adult weight: 25 to 35 pounds; 14 to 17 inches at the shoulder.
- Fits apartments, condos, and smaller homes comfortably.
- Easier for travel, in-cabin flights, and families who want a portable companion.
- Still energetic — minis need real daily exercise and engagement, not just lap time.
- Often the right choice for older buyers, single-professional households, and families with limited yard space.
Medium Goldendoodle
- Typical adult weight: 36 to 50 pounds; 17 to 20 inches at the shoulder.
- Athletic and well suited to active families.
- Sturdy enough for active play with kids, small enough to manage in most homes.
- Balanced energy — content with a yard, a daily walk, and family time.
- A practical middle ground when you want a real-sized dog without a giant footprint.
Standard Goldendoodle
- Typical adult weight: 50 to 70+ pounds; 20 to 24 inches at the shoulder.
- Best for homes with space, a securely fenced yard, and an active lifestyle.
- Wonderful for families who want a larger, more substantial companion.
- Needs more daily exercise and more room to move comfortably indoors.
- Grooming, food, and boarding costs scale up with size — worth planning for.
Energy levels and family fit
Adult size is not the same as adult energy. All four sizes can produce calm, family-suited dogs when raised with structure. That said, smaller does not automatically mean lower energy — petites and minis are often the busiest in puppyhood.
Match size to lifestyle: how much space you have, how often you travel, who will handle the dog day to day, and how active your household truly is — not how active you hope to become.
